Anaglyphic Contrast Balance (ACB) is a Patented process that achieves a balanced display of contrasts from the full spectrum to be viewable within each anaglyphic color channel, eliminating retinal rivalry. The (ACB) process is available as a Photoshop Action Set.
The color coding of viewing filters used should correspond to the color channel display of the images. (ACB) 3-D Viewers are recomended for all anaglyphs made with red/cyan color channells including anaglyphs made via the (ACB) process.
See examples in the STUDIO 555 (ACB) 3-D Anaglyph Gallery. The excellent channel separation of (ACB) 3-D Viewers enable viewing of regular color and monochromatic anaglyphs. Anaglyphic viewers commonly have red/blue or red/green gels that fail to adequately reveal anaglyphic images and are usually too transmissive to achieve extinction of the opposing color channel. Some viewer makers persue the perception of red and allow red to pass through the cyan gel at the expense of stereoscopic colour channelling. Despite reduced image separation to compensate, double imaging results.
(ACB) 3-D viewers are stereoscopic. They do not allow red to pass through the cyan gel. See Anaglyphic Viewing.
